Primary School Lego Hackathon

Inspiring Young Minds Through Creative Tourism Ideas

On a bright and sunny May morning, we welcomed 6th class pupils and their teachers from St. John Bosco’s Primary School to our campus for a ’Mini Hackathon’ focused on community tourism.

As part of their participation in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme, the students engaged in a series of playful activities designed to spark entrepreneurial thinking. In collaboration with colleagues from the Growth Hub, we invited the students to explore innovative ways to attract visitors to their local Dublin 7 community—using Legoas a creative tool for ideation and teamwork.

Working in small groups, the pupils enthusiastically built and shared imaginative tourism concepts, ranging from the practical to the fantastical. The energy and creativity on display were truly inspiring.

This event was kindly supported by colleagues in the School of Tourism and Hospitality, TU Dublin, whose expertise added valuable context and encouragement to the students’ ideas.
